Civil War Dance Instruction with the Victorian Dance Ensemble

Cinematic storytelling powered by Moviepedia.

By viewing this video, you will see several different dances and dance formations demonstrated at a recreation of a period ball. Following the ball, the movements of the dances will be broken down individually and demonstrated in easy-to-follow, step-by-step instruction. The steps and movements demonstrated are the group’s interpretation of dance during the mid-19th century—a result of careful study of period dance manuals, etiquette books, and line drawings. The Victorian Dance Ensemble hopes you enjoy watching the ball and learning steps to make you more at ease on the Civil War dance floor.
